# Writing Rules

# SECTION 3: WRITING RULES

Follow these rules for all job descriptions:

1. Use simple sentence structures.
2. Avoid decorative language.
3. Avoid poetic phrasing.
4. Do not use em dashes.
5. Use professional institutional tone.
6. Avoid negative wording such as **must not**, **cannot**, **should not**. Describe expected behavior positively.
   * **Example**: *Maintain confidentiality in sensitive matters.*
7. Maintain consistent formatting across all sections.
8. Bullet points should start with action verbs.
9. Paragraphs should remain concise and focused.
