Purpose
To define the leave entitlements for all employees and ensure fair, consistent application across all divisions.Leave Types & Entitlements
1. Annual Leave (Earned Leave)
- Entitlement: 18 days per calendar year
- Accrual: 1.5 days per month
- Carry forward: Maximum 9 days can be carried to the next year
- Encashment: Unused leave beyond carry-forward limit may be encashed at basic salary rate
- Minimum notice: 5 working days in advance for planned leave
- Approval: Direct Manager
2. Sick Leave
- Entitlement: 12 days per calendar year
- Carry forward: Not carried forward
- Documentation: Medical certificate required for absences exceeding 2 consecutive days
- Approval: Direct Manager informed on same day where possible
3. Casual Leave
- Entitlement: 6 days per calendar year
- Usage: For personal emergencies or unplanned short absences
- Maximum continuous usage: 3 days
- Carry forward: Not carried forward
- Approval: Direct Manager
4. Maternity Leave
- Entitlement: 26 weeks (182 days) fully paid — in line with the Maternity Benefit Act, India peoplestrong
- Eligibility: Employees who have worked at the company for a minimum of 80 days in the 12 months prior
- Additional: 6 weeks in case of miscarriage or medical termination
- Approval: People and Culture — Director of Talent
5. Paternity Leave
- Entitlement: 10 working days fully paid
- Usage: To be taken within 3 months of the child’s birth or adoption
- Approval: People and Culture — Director of Talent
6. Bereavement Leave
- Entitlement (Immediate Family): 5 working days (parent, sibling, spouse, child)
- Entitlement (Extended Family): 2 working days
- Approval: Direct Manager — no documentation required
7. Compensatory Leave
- Applies to: Employees who work on declared holidays or weekends due to project requirements
- Entitlement: 1 day compensatory leave for every day worked
- Must be used within: 60 days of being granted
- Approval: Director of the division
Leave During Probation
- Sick and casual leave are available from day one
- Annual leave begins accruing from day one but can only be taken after probation is confirmed
Leave Without Pay (LWP)
- Applicable when all leave balances are exhausted
- Requires approval from Group Partner and People and Culture
- Salary deducted proportionally for days taken
